SAMH aims to improve the lives of persons with mental health issues through rehabilitation and reintegration. Their beneficiaries include youths, students and adults.

SAMH has 2 forms of creative services:

(A) Creative MINDSET Hub

MINDSET Hub uses art, writing, music and dance as a form of therapy for participants of all ages to explore and express their feelings. Their activities include creative therapeutic interventions, individual art therapy and counselling with creative approaches.

(B) Creative SAY! (Sports, Arts and Youth)

A preventive and wellness centre that serves the young adult population (12 to 35 years old) through the use of sports, outdoors and creative therapeutic interventions.

(A) Community Education & Engagement

SAMH organises talks/ workshops, booths, and sharing sessions to improve mental health literacy.

(B) Counselling

SAMH provides helpline and face-to-face counselling for individuals and families.

(C) Mobile Support Team

Provides therapeutic interventions for mental health needs.

SAMH offers vocational and psychosocial support. They help persons with mental health conditions gain the skills and mindset to manage their mental health and reintegrate into the community.

YOUth Alive! 2020

On SAMH’s third edition of YOUth Alive!, they featured expressive showcases including a drama performance, a virtual 3D art exhibition and a dialogue session to raise awareness of how empathy supports youth mental well-being.

Together against stigma

UNBOXING is a 3-part mini web-series by SAMH that aims to debunk some of the myths and biases of mental illness. It also hopes to spark conversations and shine some truth behind misrepresented stereotypes associated with certain mental illnesses.

Eugene also shares his personal experience working at SAMH, and discusses what makes his job so meaningful to him.
